Welcome to Educare Solutions! My name is Laurie Marcinkewicz. After many years as a successful teacher, I made the difficult decision to leave the classroom because I felt there was a limit to the degree I could help the students in my care. Not wanting to give up on give up my passion for education and helping children, I developed Educare Solutions in 2019. My mission is to make sure every student's needs are being met.
Knowledgeable, experienced, and caring, with over 20 years' experience teaching children with and without special needs, I offer support through Educational Educational Advocacy, Educational Consulting, and Individualized Instruction.
Services Offered
Coming soon - Support for Theater Groups and Participants with Special Needs
Everyone deserves the chance to participate fully and freely, so I am currently in preparation to offer the following.
Training for staff members: the nature of several of the special needs they are likely to encounter, such as - Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, ADD, Auditory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, Intellectual Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Processing Disorder.
Training on effective techniques for planning, organization, communication, teaching, and preparation of the event space.
Training on what the ADA says about including people with special needs.
Training on what the State of Massachusetts requires for involving students with special needs in extra-curricular activities.
Consult with staff about supporting specific needs.
Consult with participants to learn about their specific needs, and share that information with the staff.
Advise leadership re: vetting staff who will be working with people with special needs.
Support for Students
Consult with parents, school personnel, and other team members regarding educational, psychological, and physical needs of students
Conduct student observations and informal assessments
Recommend strategies, techniques, and related aids and services for the classroom and home
Provide individualized instruction in reading
Write summary reports compiling information from formal and informal assessments, observations, and recommendations for supporting students
Act as an expert witness in hearings and trials
Support for Parents
Explain assessments, IEP's, 504 Plans, statues and regulations, and research-based teaching strategies
Advise clients on their child's rights to a Free and Appropriate Education
Support parents at school meetings
Draft letters to support children's needs
Assist parents to organize materials and advocate for their child
Refer parents to an educational attorney when necessary
Support for Teachers
Consult for organization and set-up of classrooms to limit overstimulation and increase learning and cooperation.
Professional development re: prevention and remediation of reading difficulties.
Explanation of testing and results, with suggestions for instruction, accommodations, and modifications.
Organization of student assessments, reports, and work samples to prepare for TEAM meetings.
